Art Review of Murals in the Mission District

Today, I saw a mural in san farnsisco. It was in the Mission District. This mural showed the country of  el salvador. The mural had orange and yellow + many other colors. It was a bid mural on a wall. This mural shows about the past and the present of el salvador. The war of El salvador was not so long  ago. The mural  is to remember what happened in the war. In the artwork, you can see a lady in the present and past which i believe represents her sorrows during the war. she was same bring her past. She was in a bad condition. She had a letter in her hand from her husband that were soldiers. In the artwork, you can see some men in a bar which i believe represnts their life during the war. They were remembering their life during that war, that was different than today's life. I feel really bad when I know what this mural represents. I like this mural so much. It  was beautiful, lovely it touched my heart and made me cry.

Cultural Review of a Vietnamese Restawant in America

Today, I experienced American and Vietnamese culutur. One thing I learned about this culuture is everything is different than my culuture. They have a different language than I speak and different cloths. In this fieldtrip, I saw some things similar with my country. Americans and the Vietnamese loved their culuture a lots. We love our culuture and together and wear traditional cloths. In this fieldtrip, I saw so many things that are different and beautiful. This is defferent then my culuture because people eat different types of food and with chapsticks, speak different  langayes but somethings are the same too. The most of the things in Vietnamese and American culutures are nice and great. I like their working styel, dress and how they talk with the people. Of-course, I like this neighborhood and I wand to go visit this neighborhood again.

Street Fashion of UC Berkeley

In different places people were wearing different types of styies and colthing. It  looked kind of different  than people in Oakland. Most of the people ware  UC Berkeley T-shirt, pantd, and light colored clothes. Lots of students  ware t-shirt with the colleges logo on them. There were out fits that surprised and impressed me, like  how they wore T-shirt. I really liked the t-shirt that they were wearing, especially the UC Berkeley clothes with the college logo on them. The college students at UC B erkeley and every one was wearing the cool t-shirts which represent the college.

Trip to Bowling

On Jun 11/2010 We went to Albany Bowl to play the bowling and to see and learn some things about bowling. This one is the trip that I think is the best one, really great and different.  It was so fun, we played bowling there and we played some other things that we want. Some people play pool and some of them playing vedio game. After that we walked  little more, then we sat on the park and started writing in our journal. Then we dismissed over there. Some of us took the 18 bus, some of us took the 72R.

TILDEN PARK

On June 10/2010, We went to a park called Tilden  park. We took the bus 1R to reach there. When we got off the bus we walked a little up and down on the hill. There we had lots of fun. We saw so many  animals which is really cool and beautiful. There the farm animals, they are goats, cows, chickens, roosters, rabbits, ducks, birds and taxidermy animals. They are in different types and different, like baby animals. We gives some food to them and takes some picture then we went in big ground or fild then  play soccer and enjoy with sun. We all take a lunch and came back.

Trip to San Fransisco

This is a trip when we went to San Fransisco. We took a bart to reach there.  When we got up from the bart, we walked throught the street. Then we reached in some open place, were is small shopping area then we took a little  30 min rest. Then we wented to Pier 39. When we were there the teacher gave us 1 hour to hang out with our partner. So we did some shooping there then came back.

Old Oakland

Today on June 10th, we all  went Old Oakland to see the some things. How the peolpe are walking around and how they surviving. We took bus 1 to reach there. We walked a little and we met with one lady who invited us. She is so nice and helpful, she walked with us all the way thrught and she showed us some nice buliding. The one place that I really liked was the buliding having a beautiful map. There are other so many places, which we wanted to go but we didn't haved much time. Then we came back.

Trip to UC Berkeley

Last Friday  we, all student who have a class Bay Area Adventure, went on a trip to UC Berkeley. We all took bus to reach  there. We walked around  and saw the different kinds of people, different kinds of students  from different places and countries. We got off the bus and walked through the compus. Then we gathered all the students and started interviewing people who walked around the campus. We came out with our own questions. We can ask them any kind of question we wanted. There are lots of college students walking around the compus. Then we went to the big tower in UC Berkeley campus to take some pictures. Then we went to the museum of paleontology in UC college to see the bones of dionasours. We went  dollar scoop and dinosaor bones Tower bookstore  ice cream.

Mural Art

On June 3rd our class went to San Francisco in Mission District to see the murals around the neighborhood. We took Bart to get there and we walked a little. We went to one of the stores where they have classes of art. We talked with one man who is the main leader of that store. He showed us lots of art and explained  why they do that. There we saw the different kind of mural art.  The environment is  so nice and art was beautiful. The sound we heard was about art and the art which made by the teenage girls. After we finished that we went in mission park, then took a little rest. We took a lunch and went to visit international school in San Francisco. Then we came back home.         

Review of Vietnamese Food

Today we went in Vietnamese restaurant to taste food. There are many different kind of food that we saw and  one food we ate is Vietnamese.It looks like a fried chicken wings. It smells like delicious. It tastes soft. Another food we ate is egg rolls. It looks like small rolls. It smells nice, delicious and little fishy. It tastes sweet and really cool. The restaurant named is pho. It is not much big, not small, it was medium size. But they have nice and beautiful light like a  flower. Their menu includes soups vegetables, they have lots  different type of food.

Hi, it's me Hema Bhandari. I am from Nepal, now I'm in the United States. I came in September /8/2008. Currently I'm a student of Oakland International High School. I am the one student who really wonders about something new and a hard worker. I hear a sound of hope and success. I have many dreams, goals and hopes, I see so many different things were around me, that I have to learn. I want to do better  because I want my future bright. Sometimes I pretend to be better with every ones but I am still sick with some cause. I see so many things that I still have to do. I worry about my future. I cry when I see the wrong people who just wassting there time and someone hurt me. I understand every things what I have to do, what is my duty, what I am supposed to be, and who I am. Sometimes I saw good and bad things that down by  myself and my friends but I am always nice with them. I dream is to achieve my goals and my distance. I try a lots to do something better in my future. I hope I can reach in my dream.
